Pull & Push Toys
Pull & Push Toys: First Steps & Beyond
At about a year old, your baby will be ready to try his legs. First, your child may roll around like a log, push up his upper body with his arms, or crawl forward or backwards with one or both legs. Soon he will pull on your arms and stand with your help. Some children skip the crawling stage altogether and go straight to standing. Both are normal.
After faltering several times and learning from those falls, your child will give those wobbly knees another try -- strengthened from all the previous attempts -- and take her first steps. It's an amazing and important time when your child develops important gross motor skills.
Pull and push toys become fun walking aids as she learns to move around. It's also a great way for your child to develop gross motor skills and to learn how her body works.
