Instructions excerpt:
Your child tells a story.
Spread the cards face up. Your child selects a card to begin a story. Additional cards are selected to develop the story line. Recurring characters, locations and props allow the cards to be linked in endless ways. There are many pictorial details that allow linking to other cards in various ways,. As your child assembles a chronological plot, he or she is building sequencing skills. Remind the child that all the cards need not be used -- only the ones necessary for that particular story. When complete, "read" the story back to your child, or retell it together. Encourage your child to tell the story to a friend or another family member. After a number of stories, for variety, and to spur the imagination, suggest that your child try casting a character differently than expected -- the traditional "bad guy" becomes a hero. A new story will result every time.
