Benefits
Pretend play gives children opportunities to explore different settings in a safe and supportive setting. It helps your child to try out real life situations or imitate different kinds of dialogue, which help develop their vocabulary and linguistic skills. For example, Organic Veggie Crate can be a great way for children to simulate healty eating habits and for you to discuss what this means. As simple characters, Tomato, Carrot and the rest of the veggie pals can help your child discover and explore new settings like a garden or a grocery store. By taking part in pretend play, your child is stimulated intellectually and is encouraged to explore and develop his or her creativity.

Janice Masoud, President of Under the Nile, joined the 13-Villages-Project to help bring about positive economic change to poverty-stricken rural areas of Egypt. As a member of the Project, Under the Nile trains and provides meaningful work to talented women villagers who otherwise could not leave their homes due to family obligations. The women are given fair wages for their labor. Through this effort, the 13 villages are beginning to see the fruits of their labor through new economic opportunities, better living conditions, free health care, and a sense of great pride by the quality of their work.
