ChildTrek Advisory Team

ChildTrek is fortunate to have the assistance of its very talented Advisory Team made up of parents, educators, child-specialists, business owners, and accomplished professionals. Advisory members review toys, write blogs and parenting articles, and advise ChildTrek on how best to serve its customers.

Meet the Advisory Members

 
Kristina Narruhn Labore

Kristina Narruhn-Labore has over 15 years experience as a preschool and elementary teacher, specializing in reading and math. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Teaching Certificate from the University of Washington. Currently, she works part-time as a second-grade teacher in the Edmonds School District.

Kristina lives in the Seattle area with her husband Joseph and two beautiful children Anton and Josephina. As a family, they enjoy making "tent city" in their living room, playing outside, hiking, camping, and reading. Kristina's parenting tip: Tell your child you love them every chance you get and read to them everyday.

Joseph Labore

Joseph LaBore grew up in the Minnesota area. He moved to the Seattle area because of the weather. (No kidding.) He received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Psychology with a minor in Graphic Design from St. Cloud State University. He received a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Joseph has over 15 years of marketing experience specializing in pricing and revenue management at United Parcel Service. He currently works as a sales analyst for a global high tech manufacturing company.

Joseph lives with his wife Kristina and two children Anton and Josephina in the Seattle area. Joseph says, "The best feeling in life is having your children run into your arms with big smiles and laughs when you come home from work."

Sherri Woolworth is the owner of the Happy Dog Daycare in Denver, Colorado. Sherri has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Colorado. She is the co-president of North Tacoma Co-op Preschool, a steering committee member of the Tacoma Children's Museum, a board member of the Tacoma Humane Society, and is a volunteer track and field coach at Mason Middle school. Sherri is also an accomplished vocalist and musician with several records to her name. She lives with her husband Steve and two beautiful children Isaiah and Jordan in Tacoma, Washington.

 

Elizabeth Booth

Elizabeth Booth is retired and lives in Olympia, Washington. Liz, as she is fondly called by friends, is a mother of two grown-up men and grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren. Liz is an avid reader and gardener. Her latest adventure is beekeeping. She has over 20 years administrative experience in public schools.

Liz lives with her husband Leonard of over 40 years and dog, Caramel, in a house they built over 30 years ago. Everyone who has ever been graced by Liz's friendship will tell you that she is one of the nicest and most positive people you'll ever meet.

 

 

Darci Kleindl grew up in Eastern Washington as a member of a very close family where she was fortunate to have incredibly supportive parents, sister, grandparents, and great grandparents. Her family background instilled in her passion for helping people of all ages. 

Darci is the General Manager of Enterprise Partners at Microsoft. She has a history of strong people development and coaching skills and feels personal reward in making others be great in both their personal and professional lives. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Washignton. She values most her family including her daughter Dakota Ashley, who has simply, “made my life have a totally different purpose and meaning. There is nothing like hearing the words 'I love you mommy'."

Margaret Hawley & Family

Margaret Hawley has worked to improve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and workers' rights around the globe. At the Fair Labor Association, both as the Coordinator and Interim Director of the Monitoring Program, she helped to establish a process for the public to review independent monitoring results that identified both violations in labor standards and their remediations at factories where companies outsource their products.

At Levi Strauss and Company, Margaret monitored factories in the Americas for their compliance with Levi's Code of Conduct. She has a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College. She lives with her partner, Glenn Cooper, their girls Elliot and Pia, in San Jose, California along with their two cats, Rocky and Kulafu.

Pearl Hamilton with Brooke

Pearl Hamilton grew up with a hearing impaired mother and hard of hearing father who taught and reinforced sign language as a way of communicating to them as a young infant. By the age of one, Pearl was fluent in Baby Sign language. Pearl took Sign Language at Vancouver’s Community College in Vancouver, BC at night while working full time. She is a Certified Baby Signs Instructor with Sign2me and Visually Speaking.

Pearl teaches baby sign classes and appears as a guest presenter at Barnes & Noble events. She has been featured in the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s “2007 Best Of The City Edition.” Pearl lives in Seattle, Washington. She is pictured here with Brooke, one of her baby “students.”

Stacey Booth

Stacey Booth is a developmental preschool teacher in North Thurston School District in Washington. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching specializing in Literacy from Lesley University. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Central Washington Universtiy. Stacey is in the process of gaining her special education endorsement.

Stacey loves to garden, read, and spend time with her family. She keeps a full schedule between teaching and family responsibilities. When asked how she keeps things together, she says, "You've got to have a sense of humor. There's a funny side to everything. Find it." Stacey lives with her husband Bret and children Ryan and Rachel in Olympia, Washington.

 

Jeanne Clements - life-long advocate for families and environmental causes, has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with focus on Early Childhood Education and Art. Jeanne raised her children in the beach cities of Southern California working as a carpentry artisan doing small projects for kids’ bedrooms, schools and clubs, encouraging ReUse, ReThink, ReFresh, ReCycle for each job. Her four adult children regularly encourage her to write a parenting book "soon." Her first grandchild, Gus, will be one in October 2009. Jeanne's family values include love, laughter and learning; personally and professionally, she and her daughters and son focus on children, families, environmental issues and education. Jeanne believes that, as "participants in the conversation" about what is good for "our" children, we must imagine life's best possibilities, then work - individually and collectively - to make them real and sustainable. Jeanne lives in Gig Harbor, WA.

 

Geraldine Fabella lives in the San Francisco Bay area. Gerry, as she is fondly called, is a licensed speech language pathologist and specializes in working with children. She has a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Washington. Gerry works with families and their children to.... Gerry loves to travel and to hike. ....
