ChildTrek is an award-winning* toy store. It specializes in high-quality, safe, eco-friendly toys for children from birth to 12 years old. Most of the toys are made of natural or green materials - entirely free of BPA, phthalates, vinyl, and PVC. Not only are they certified non-toxic, they are fundamentally good for the child. They are wholesome, smart, super fun, and are made to last for years. You won't find many of these quality toys in big box stores.

Good for Kids and Planet

Positive childhood development. ChildTrek is fundamentally about healthy and positive childhood development - social, physical, emotional and intellectual. We understand that play is a very large part of children's growth. That's why ChildTrek carefully selects toys, books and gifts that support well-rounded and well-grounded learning throughout the early years. We offer products that are informed by true and tried traditional wisdom, groundbreaking early learning research, and the realities and challenges of parenting and caregiving.

Eco-friendly practices. ChildTrek also believes that one of the best legacies we can leave our children is a healthy, vibrant and prosperous planet. To that end, ChildTrek carefully selects toys and other children's goods that promote sustainable existence with our beautiful world.

The vast majority of the toys you'll find at ChildTrek are made of natural, biodegradable, recyclable, and/or recycled materials. They are made of sustainable wood and/or natural fabrics such as wool and cotton. A few are made of cotton and polyester blends and very little new plastic is used. Most of the toys are finished with vegetable or other natural dyes, polished with beeswax, painted with water-based and non-toxic paints, or retain their natural, unfinished beauty.

ChildTrek also supports recycling and reusing. To that end, we offer toys that are made of reclaimed or recycled plastic (i.e., milk jugs, margarine tubs) using environmentally-sound practices. Since packaging can significantly harm the Earth, ChildTrek also offer toys from companies that are making measurable steps to lessen the environmental impact of packaging. Indeed, ChildTrek often ships orders in repurposed boxes as a way to give the many boxes we receive from manufacturers another life.

Certifiably-safe. All the toys offered at ChildTrek meet or exceed North American and / or European safety standards. They are independently certified child-safe & non-toxic.

ChildTrek also features toys made under fair-trade practices to promote world prosperity.

ChildTrek Founder

ChildTrek was founded by Miebeth Bustillo-Booth, a former teacher, in 2007. She created ChildTrek to marry interests around toy safety, positive educational development, and environmental stewardship. ChildTrek wants to help parents be successful. It dedicates a section on its web site called Parents' Corner, a collection of resources where parents and caregivers can find information and helpful tips about such topics as How to Care for a Newborn, What a Toddler Needs, and How to Develop Your Child's Language Skills.
